Crux Publications is looking for manuscripts between 25,000 and 50,000 words that tell the story of how you came to faith in Christ and how that faith has made a difference in your life. We view these stories as non-traditional memoirs in that the story is a reflection of your memories of life before Christ, your conversion experience, and life after coming to Christ. However, the story is not about you. It should be about how God has worked in your life to change you from the inside out.
These stories do not need to be dramatic, nor must they follow a specific format in terms of content. In other words, we’re not just looking for “God saved me from sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll stories.” We want true stories that reflect the nature and character of God.
The telling of the story is as important as the story itself. Put your personality into it. Be true to the events in your life, and be fair to others who have been a part of your story. That does not mean you have to gloss over any pain or turmoil they have caused you, but you should write with honesty and grace, giving every person the credit and honor they deserve because they were created in God’s image—the same as you were.
We highly recommend you read at least one testimony published by Crux Publications to get a feel for how others have told their stories.
If you believe you have a Christian testimony that reflects positively on our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and that honors God, giving a testimony of His grace in your life, then you may submit a manuscript. We’ll do our best to give it a fair read and let you know whether we will publish your manuscript. If we refuse, it does not mean you do not have a good story. If we choose to publish your manuscript, we will expect exclusive rights to its publication and will pay you 30% of royalties on the sale of your book. We pay royalties monthly with a minimum payout of $25.
Manuscripts should adhere to the following guidelines:
- Written in Word or Google Docs
- 12-point font, Times New Roman
- 1-inch margins all around
- Titles and chapter headings in 18-point font
- Consist no less than 25,000 words and no more than 50,000 words
